Everything

Lyrics to “Everything” by Jon Henry:

Every day the sun comes up
Every breath that fills my lungs
Every song that I’ve ever sung
I give to you, God

Every mountain capped with ice
Every color that’s in the sky
Every river and wildfire
I give to you, God

Everything is yours
Take it from my shoulders

Every gunshot that tore the peace
Every drop of blood spilled on these streets
Every cry for help heard heedlessly
I give to you, God

Every time that I got caught
Every promise I made and then forgot
Every aching want and anxious thought
I give to you, God

Everything is yours
Take it from my shoulders

Every prayer I’ve tried to pray
Every word I wish I didn’t say
Every wound I’ve dealt to disguise my shame
I give to you, God

Every love I’m so scared to lose
Every lie I’m living as if it’s true
Every hurt I’ve tried to hide away from you
I give to you, God

Everything is yours
Take it from my shoulders

Every day the sun comes up
Every breath that fills my lungs
Every song that I’ve ever sung
I give to you, God

  1. Thank you so much for the song “Everything”! I’ve been singing it throughout the day the past week. It has drawn me closer to God in conversation about EVERYTHING! The things that bring me joy, the things that scare and overwhelm me, the things I am ashamed of and sorry for… The conversation starts with your song and then continues with my own “lyrics” offered to Him.

Question: I am the Praise & Worship leader at our tiny tiny church, and I am wondering if I can bring your song during a service. I have been working on it on the guitar. I cannot find your work on the CCLI licensing site, so I have just been working on figuring out and writing my own chords (I’m doing key of A capo 1 to match you). I think it’s okay if I’m not making or selling recordings and I give you full credit on the PowerPoint slides, right?
